Michael D. Tauer is an experienced trial attorney and trusted advisor with over two decades of experience in guiding clients through a broad range of employment, commercial, and regulatory matters. Michael has represented employers, employees, large and small businesses, healthcare providers, and shareholders in civil litigation in both state and federal courts related to employment discrimination claims, restrictive covenants, commercial disputes, and conflicts among business partners. Michael has also provided advice and counseling to employers related to employment matters, workplace investigations, and statutory compliance and is an Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate Holder.

Michael received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999. Michael received his law degree, magna cum laude, from Boston University School of Law in 2003, where he was on the Public Interest Law Journal and was awarded the G. Joseph Tauro Distinguished Scholar Award, the Paul J. Liacos Scholar Award, the Edward F. Hennessey Distinguished Scholar Award, and the Dean’s Award for Contracts.

 After law school, Michael had the privilege of serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Martha B. Sosman of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. Michael is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Maryland, Tennessee, District of Columbia, the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Michael lives with his wife and children in Wellesley and serves on Wellesley’s Permanent Building Committee. Michael also serves on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston, the Board of Trustees of Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, and the National Leadership Council of Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
